Do you know 1 in 5 children are food insecure? Do you know that this is happening right in your own back yard and not overseas in a distant 3rd world country? Thanks to NUTRA BLEND and their Drive to Feed Kids program, people in cities and towns across America are becoming aware of this staggering statistic and are taking on the challenge posed by NB.
After 5 years as NB’s exclusive MEETING PLANNING team, KONCEPT EVENTS is responsible for International total resort buyouts and coordinating every aspect of this brand’s prestigious Customer Rewards trip experience. With this intimate insider knowledge, KE has become very familiar, if not fully immersed, in this national brand. You can say KE has guzzled the NB “kool aid” and has been inspired by their ever-growing passion for fighting our nation’s hunger. To show our support, KE joined the army of DRIVE TO FEED volunteers and partnered with FEEDING SOUTH FLORIDA to create meals for food insecure children in the local BROWARD and DADE county areas. KE devised a two-day mobile “pop-up” tour using their sprinter as a temporary lounge and created an assembly line that invited major hotel brand executives and staffers to give back. The results were staggering and the participants had a blast!
With 7 hotels and over 116 participants, 215 bagged meals were created and an additional 35 lbs. of food was donated to the SOUTH FLORIDA CHAPTER of FEEDING AMERICA! Each hotel team that participated was noticeably moved by this experience and all begged the question “when can we do this again?!” Brands that participated in this momentous event included the powerhouses of BONAVENTURE RESORT & SPA, W FORT LAUDERDALE, SHERATON FORT LAUDERDALE BEACH, THE WESTIN BEACH RESORT & SPA FORT LAUDERDALE, THE RITZ CARLTON FORT LAUDERDALE, THE RITZ CARLTON SOUTH BEACH, HILTON MIAMI AIRPORT, andHILTON CABANA MIAMI BEACH. Ironically, this event occurred during HILTON INTERNATIONAL’S “GLOBAL WEEK OF SERVICE” and aligned perfectly with their corporate efforts to give back. In the events industry, it really is all about timing.

KE was deeply appreciative of the time and effort made by so many busy and talented individuals. But the real thanks goes to NB.
