Why Food Rescue Should Be on Every Planner’s Checklist
A Success Story from Hawaii
Recently, we worked with a client on a 600 person incentive trip at the Turtle Bay Resort, Kahuku, Hawaii. This particular client has always supported giveback and CSR as part of their programs, so this year, we suggested food recovery as part of their initiatives. They agreed, and working with the hotel (who were great!), we collected food from their breakfast each day. By the end of the week, JUST from breakfast, we had donated 260 pounds to two local organizations!
We asked Courtney Lohmann, KE Director of Culture and food recovery head, to share a bit about her experience. Click below to listen! Are you interested in starting a food recovery program at your next event? Use this helpful overview from our friends at the Green Meeting Industry Council!
