The WORLD EDUCATION CONGRESS (WEC) hosted by MEETING PROFESSIONAL INTERNATIONAL (MPI), is a stand-out, educational gathering…that the top meeting and event planners in the industry never miss attending! It’s hard to believe that this year’s 4 day gathering in San Francisco, California – August 1-4 – has already come to an end.
KONCEPT EVENTS SENIOR SALES MANAGER REBECCA YOAKUM, had the privilege of representing the KE brand at this year’s congress. With her aqua KE bag in hand, Yoakum set out to learn, network and discover the best that the corporate events industry has to offer…and she was not disappointed! Yoakum returned to South Florida bursting with inspiration and stories to tell of her exciting experience! She was so excited to share all of her take-aways, that she kept a diary of her journey to give the inside scoop on what it’s like to be an attendee at WEC.
Here’s a look at her adventures…

3:00 PM: In San Francisco, even cab drivers support eco-friendly transportation! This “caution look for bikes when exiting” sticker was on the window of my taxi.
4:00 PM: Checking in for 2015 MPI WEC at Moscone West. I am ready for a great few days of education, networking, catching up with industry friends and meeting new ones!

TUESDAY, AUGUST 4TH – DAY FOUR
9:00 AM: Last “Flash Point” general session…focused on finding your professional edge. Inspiring speakers: Liz Murray (Homeless to Harvard) and Kai Kight (who played the violin to begin and end his speech). I loved the format of multiple speakers, each giving a short speech. Kept our attention and kept us engaged.
1:00 PM: At the airport drinking a diet coke, awaiting my flight home. What an incredible experience! See you in 2016 in Atlantic City for the next one!
