At Koncept Events, we have some really stellar people, and we are so proud that others see it too! Case in point, in the most recent digital edition of MeetingsNet, Courtney Lohmann, CMP and KE’s Director of Culture, was named one of the 2018 ChangeMakers! Courtney’s passion is sustainability and she has been a leading voice in the industry in pushing for more sustainable event practices. A few of her favorite initiatives (and easy changes!) include food rescue, F&B trends to cut down on waste and reduction of single use items. So long straws! Over the past year, Courtney has been a speaker at IMEX, co-host of a webinar on Food Rescue Tips with MeetingsNet and a special guest on Food and Wine Insiders radio show where she’s shared why it’s important to think about your event’s footprint.
Internally here at KE, she makes sure that not only are we rethinking how we plan for corporate events, but that we are working and living responsibly here in the office. When we moved to our new home, she pushed for hand dryers in the bathrooms, recycling systems and smart technology with our lighting and cooling systems. She also is always looking for organizations we can partner with that are on the sustainability train and we are really excited to announce some of those partnerships in the coming months!
Congratulations Courtney! We know you change is happening and are so proud you are leading the way!
